Friday after 4th Sunday in Lent

Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him.

S John 13 v 31

“‘Now is the Son of Man glorified.’ But where or how should He be so glorified in the midst of this miserable and naughty world, as in you? (Dear Sisters,) the longer I live, and the more we work together, the more I see the power it has pleased Him to give you of doing Him service; the more I see that eight or ten women, really devoted to Him, vowed to Him, really giving up everything for Him, pledged to Him, their lives in their hands, as His offering, if He will accept them, can produce an effect on Him Church here indeed. It is marvellous to compare your individual weakness with your united strength. O dear sisters, look each of you into your own hearts: see how much there still remains of self-indulgence, self-love, disobedience; see how much that is not perfectly simle, perfectly pure: and yet, oh what abundance of grace our dear Lord, my Almighty and most gracious vaster, your loving and tender Husband, pours upon you; how He enables you to honour Him openly and in the sight of the world

‘Now is the Son of Man glorified’. (Dearest Sisters,) oh that that now may be always with you: now in the Oratory; now in your visit to the Blessed Sacrament; now in your own bedrooms; now in the Refectory; now in your common room, ‘Now is the Son of Man glorified’.”
